I am a general contractor who has worked with Ania on a number of projects. She's a joy to work with. She maintains very high standards in the work that she turns out for clients without ever being disrespectful or putting excessive demands on the contractors who physically execute the work. She's gracious and fair, and even very considerate, with all the players in the project, from clients to crew to suppliers. And she brings a distinct contemporaneity and freshness to all her designs, even those within the sphere of very traditional style. Ania articulates a very wide range of architectural and design sensibility, so her projects vary widely in terms of style - she's always focused on pleasing clients, while maintaining clear integrity as an artist. With ample talent and skill for problem-solving, negotiation, creative solutions of many kinds, Ania sets a tone for successful projects and is always very careful but also realistic about clients' priorities, including time and money. It's been such a pleasure to work with Ania Stempi over the years. She has designed two of my apartments and I've been thrilled with the results of both, plus every visitor I have says that the place looks incredible. I worked with her on a very large and complex high-end project and found her to be thorough, dedicated and communicative every step of the way. And we receive endless compliments on the design of the apartment from visitors! Tasteful choices
It was a pleasure working with the interior designer Ania Stempi. From the start of the project in my Upper West Side brownstone apartment she carefully listened to what I wanted to do and gently guided me to various solutions…always mindful of my budget. For the bedroom we selected items from Scott Jordan Furniture in Soho whose workshop is located in Brooklyn. A real plus is that Ania is also a furniture designer and she had the night tables and TV stand made to my specs. For the living room she suggested a variety of tasteful choices: a rug from Restoration Hardware, swivel chairs from Ligne Roset, the couch from American Leather, etc. She is very patient, resourceful and enjoyable to work with.
Great designer
I think Ania is a great designer to work with. She doesn't impose her ideas but works with you and helps you to develop your own ideas in combination with her knowledge and expertise in the area of design. I think everything in my apartment she's helped me with looks terrific and she really transformed the apartment into a warm and inviting space to live in and entertain. I'm really glad I had the luck to find Ania and had the opportunity to work with her.

We needed to add a dining space, but didn’t have the space. She designed a quartz countertop that overlapped the existing one, but extended outwards and to the side, creating a nice modern design that not only provided the needed dining space, but also enhanced the the whole kitchen.
