Ania Stempi began her career in film production in Poland in the 1980’s,
working in a variety of capacities under the tutelage of top figures
in her native country. She began practicing interior design in 1991 after
graduating with honors from Parsons in NYC. She holds a Master’s degree
in European history and takes pleasure in her propensity for extensive
research. As a designer with job assignments on three continents, she
has developed a combination of keen street-smarts, refined know-how,
and a sharp eye for detail. Trial-by-fire conditions in a variety of
languages, cultures and contexts have blessed her with discipline and
the proven ability to meet tight budgets and deadlines.
As a senior designer in the 1990’s at K-2 Design in Fukuoka, Japan, she participated in the conceptualization of several of that city’s prominent commercial developments, and upon her return to New York, she continued to hone her skills while rendering and executing high-end residential projects alongside noted NYC architect David McMahon. Stempi launched her own studio in 2001. Projects have generally included Manhattan co-ops and condos, Brooklyn townhouses, a number of corporate environments, as well as some spectacular vacation homes. Her extensive education and background have prepared her to curate a significant corporate art collection, which she does with consummate discipline and skill. Stempi’s interiors are warm, human, and eclectic while attending with utmost respect to her client preferences and lifestyles. Thoughtful design choices … accurate execution … personable, natural, and professional collaboration … these are Ania Stempi’s hallmarks and standards. In her ongoing role as chief designer for New York-based furniture manufacturer, Scott Jordan Furniture, she oversees many aspects of the creation of production and custom residential furniture. Her work at Scott Jordan has been extremely well-received both for the quality of execution as well as for the extensive use of renewable materials. |
